Interior Rock Art

These photos are from four main areas east of the mountains: The Dalles (where the Columbia River cuts through the Cascade Mountains), Hells Canyon (the Snake River between Oregon and Idaho), the Harney Basin (the northern end of the Great Basin in SE Oregon), and the Okanogan (in north central Washington and SE British Columbia), although some are from outlying areas between these. The best book to begin with to get to know the rock art of this area is The Rock Art of the Columbia Plateau by James D. Keyser.
